Looking for a formal Technical Communication qualification?

If you want to study information design or technical communication online, Ara Institute of Canterbury in New Zealand is offering a revamped suite of qualifications. The Graduate Certificate of Information Design will be offered from February 2018 and the Graduate Diploma will be available from February 2019. These are unique qualifications in Australasia and replace the former Graduate Diploma in Information Design which Ara has been teaching for twenty years. These qualifications are highly regarded by industry/employers and offer a flexible pathway for those seeking a career change or wanting to gain qualifications in their professional area.

This is something that many of us have wanted and which the Committee is always being asked about. Many institutions have informal qualifications but the formal qualification has been hard to find.

If you’d like to know more, the Ara Institute of Canterbury Information Design is a bronze sponsor of the ASTC Annual Conference. The course’s senior tutor, Shanthini Govindasamy, will be present at the conference and will give those interested a short 15-minute formal presentation during the lunch break on Day 1. There will also be information in our conference packs and Shanthini will be available during all the breaks to answer questions.

As well, if you’re not coming to the conference, at 6.30pm on Day 1 (Nov 10th), Shanthini will give an informal presentation, if numbers warrant it, in the foyer outside the Port Jackson room at the conference venue. Otherwise, she’ll be there to chat to anyone who is interested. Why not stop on for the Dinner and Trivia afterwards?
