Annual General Meeting 2019

ASTC Annual General Meeting - the outcome

On Friday afternoon of Friday 11th October, following Day 1 of our conference, we held our AGM. We combined a physical meeting (something we haven’t done since 2014) and our newer virtual meeting format using Zoom. This enabled members at the conference (or in Melbourne) and others from elsewhere in Australia to attend and contribute in the meeting.

The meeting went well with no technical hiccups, plus we incorporated an 'Other Business' session which opened up varied and interesting discussion from the floor.

We still have some vacancies on the committee. If you are a member, please consider joining – it is a rewarding experience sharing the society's work with a team of like-minded professionals. You will also gain experience in a diverse range of areas, such as our website, member communications, training and webinar development - and it'd look great on your resume too. If you are interested, write to info@astc.org.au

ASTC Commitee

A group of dedicated technical communication professionals make up the ASTC Committee each year. Our committee members volunteer their time to plan and manage the ASTC's program and meet the regulatory responsibilities of the committee and their committee roles.

The committee is elected at the ASTC's Annual General Meeting. The committee can have up to ten members, with four compulsory office-bearer and six ordinary member positions.

Our committee members can live anywhere in Australia, including rural or city areas. Our committee uses online video conference tools for meetings, so distance is not an issue for meetings, we just need to manage the time zones.
