2025 ASTC Annual General Meeting

We're hosting the meeting using Zoom meeting software, enabling all financial members to attend, no matter where you're located.

When you join the meeting, you'll enter the meeting waiting room where we'll check your membership status to ensure you're eligible. To assist us in this process, please arrive 10-15 minutes early and make sure your Zoom meeting name matches your ASTC membership name.

Become a committee member!

All the official committee positions, including President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, are open for nomination, but we also need as many regular committee members as we can get to help us run things. The range of tasks we need your help with include:

Creating content for email newsletters to our members
Coordinating the regular email news via MailChimp
Coordinating job notices received and distributing them via MailChimp
Coordinating monthly Members' Meetings
Maintaining the website
Email and Social Media communications
Organising articles for the IJTC co-hosted with ISTC and TechCommNZ
Helping out with the Annual Conference
Heaps of other things we haven't thought of yet!

If you feel that you're unable to contribute, remember that tasks can be shared between 2 or 3 people. We really need your help to keep the Society growing and moving forward. If you care about the Society and want a say in how we run it or how we can provide greater benefit to our members, please consider joining the committee. If you'd like to speak to someone about what's involved, email me at president@astc.org.au.

How to nominate

Complete a nomination form as early as possible, but preferably before close of business Tuesday 4 November 2025, and send it to info@astc.org.au. If there are multiple nominations for a position, we'll hold a ballot. Getting your nomination in early gives members time to consider who they want to vote for.

You can nominate for:

President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
General Committee

To nominate, you must be a current financial member of the ASTC at the time of the AGM, and be seconded by another member. We'll publish nomination details on this AGM page as they are received. You can nominate at the AGM, but it's always better to nominate earlier to give voting members time to consider the nominations.

How to vote

You'll be able to vote via the polling tool on Zoom. If you can't attend the meeting, you can appoint a proxy to vote in your place by downloading the proxy form, completing and returning it to info@astc.org.au by close of business, Monday 4 November, 2024.
